Robotics (Python)
On my own, while working for Prime Storage, I started working on a major project. I wanted to give myself the challenge to build something that would grow the Self-Storage Industry. I started using Python and Raspberry Pi to create a system that would automatically detect if a unit was empty using lasers. As a second measure of accuracy, the robotic car you’ll see in the portfolio used augmented reality to verify if there were contents in the storage unit.
Using Raspberry Pi, a small computer, the laser would connect with the photodiode, which was in sequence. When connected, it would illuminate the light-emitting diode. This would signify an empty unit. If the signal was blocked it would signify contents in the unit. Using custom code within Python, Raspberry Pi would relay the information to the software.
I needed to learn the basics of Python so I grabbed a book and started learning.

Marketing
I have a passion for marketing and graphic design. I've built several websites for the businesses I've created as well as businesses of others. The main software I use to create websites is Wix. The website you are on now was created with Wix however, there are limits to plug-and-play. I've used javascript along with standardized complications of the presets available in order to showcase my true abilities.
Mechanical
I started Fischer Nesbitt Vending in 2019. Without major funds to buy new machines, I started scoping out solutions. A solution that worked for me was to buy old machines and restore them. By giving them care, I was able to bring the machines back to life.
This was the first machine that I has purchased for $20.00. It was sitting in a barn for years. It took a lot of sweat equity but the results made me want to pursue restoration.

The floor plan that you see was created with AutoCAD.
Using basswood strips, I started to bring my floor plan to life.

Architecture
In my sophmore year of highschool, a project that I was assigned was to create a floor model of my dream home with AutoCAD and bring it to life. I loved this project because it opened my mind to creativity.
Music
I truly love music. I taught myself how to play guitar at 11 years old. I was in a band called All That's Fallen from the age of 11 to 17. We traveled all over the states of New York and Vermont to share our music. I give a shout out to my parents for lugging all of our gear around.
This was a music video that my friend Codie and I created in our High School Tech Class. I wrote the song and recorded it with Apple Voice Memos and then used Adobe After Effects to create the video.
Lastly, I started producing my own music. My brother and I created a band called 'DFNMB' that we would record the songs that we both created growing up. I used Logic to create everything from scratch. I also designed and created the album art.
Scuba Diving
I've always loved the underwater world; exploring a new view that a lot of people do not get a chance to see. I've always searched for treasure but it is not just about the treasure. I always picked up the waste too. You can see all of the videos I've created on my Youtube Channel 'Dylan Fischer Nesbitt'.
Modeling
While in high school, I gave modeling a shot and ended up winning a modeling contract based out of Saratoga, NY. It was something I was truly passionate about.
